Thanks for being a guest on the Confessions of a Female Entrepreneur podcast! I’m extremely excited to have you on the show.
The goal is for the interview to sound like the kind of conversation you eavesdrop on in a coffee shop. You know the one where two friends are talking at the next table, and you don’t want to listen, but you just can’t stop yourself? Great interviews are like that: compelling stories, valuable information, pure fun!
There's only 3 steps to get started...
Step 1: Book your interview time
You've probably done this already, but just in case, here's the booking link again. Podcast interviews are held on Mondays & Tuesdays (Sydney time). Hit the button below to pick a time that suits you & fill out some pre-interview 'getting to know you' questions.
Step 2: Upload your headshot
I'll use a headshot of you to help market your episode across social media & to the Confessions of a Female Entrepreneur listeners. Please upload your preferred headshot here.
Step 3: if you have any Questions, Take a look at the FAQs.
I've answered some of the most common questions that you might have in the FAQs below. If you have any others questions, you're welcome to send me an email & I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
When is the podcast launching?
Tuesday, January 19. I'll be launching 2 episodes a week for the first month to help get the most traction & listeners for your interview.
How long is the interview?
Each podcast episode is about 60 minutes. We'll chat for a little while before we hit record to get to know each other & settle our nerves, so please try to set aside at least 70 minutes for the call.
Do I need a microphone?
The internal microphone on your computer won't be clear enough, so any sort of mic that you have to plug into your computer will work fine. The headphone & microphone set that comes with your mobile phone will do the job.
How should I prepare?
Before the call:
Find me on Skype under the name alyssa.martin
Please check to make sure your microphone is working. You can do this by opening Skype and placing a voice call to the contact “Skype test call.”
Have your headphones ready because it helps cut out any noise distractions.
How can I sound my best?
Take it slow. It's easy to forget how fast you’re talking. Talking slower can also help you organise your thoughts better.
Another pro tip: the more furniture and carpet in your room, the better you’ll sound. The fabric helps absorb sound & cuts down on echo. If you don’t have a heavily-furnished room, that’s no big deal. But if you’re deciding between two rooms, choose the one with more padded surfaces.
Will the audio be edited?
Yes, it will be lightly edited.
But the goal is for the interview to sound like the kind of conversation that happens between friends, so the natural stumbles & mistakes that happen in a regular conversation are totally ok.
Is this a Skype video call, or just audio?
Feel free to make the call in your pyjamas — the call is strictly audio.
When will my episode air?
I generally record new episodes about 4 - 8 weeks before they’re scheduled to air. New podcast episodes are posted weekly on Thursdays. If you want to know the exact date, feel free to ask at the end of our recording session, I can pull up a calendar and check.
That said, I’ll send you an email with a link to your episode the morning that it’s posted.
